At some point in our lives we all go through sadness, loss, pain, illness, among many things. The feelings are affected and it is normal to live it. As parents we often do not know how we can handle and / or provide tools to our children so that they can somehow manage their emotions. What can we do?

  • First of all, pray! – I think praying is the first thing we must do. Ask God for help, wisdom and strength! We trust and rely in God’s care and provision to every need we have. And helping our kids with the emotions is one of them.
  • Second, get yourself some information and knowledge based in the Word of God. If you look closer and deep, the bible tons of help for the parents. Take a look at the book of Proverbs!
  • Third, listen and listen again! – Make yourself available to listen and pay attention to words and body language of your kids. Sometimes, they can express something and demonstrate other thing with their behavior. Pay attention!
  • Fourth, love and love! – Give them gestures of love, even when it’s hard to understand their emotions. Being present, providing a hug, give them security! Give words of affirmation always!
  • If your kids are older (8, 10, 12 or older) talk with them about your own experiences with your emotions and how you deal with your emotions in different settings. Perhaps, they feel identified and this helps them with their own emotions.
  • Don’t let them deny or avoid their emotions. Provide a space for ventilation. May they feel safe talking to you. Give them confidence and do not share what they tell you with other people who are not from the same family nucleus.
  • For toddlers and preschoolers, let them come to you in every need! – Pay all your attention to them. If they come crying to you, expect them with arms wide open. They come to you because they feel safe and secure with mom and dad! – Get yourself some tools like books of different topics (this have help me a lot) to explain to them according to their age.

As parents we must be available to our children and promote emotional health. Guide them using faith and the Word of God as a basis at all times. Have you implemented any of these tips with your children? How did it go?

3 things you should do to have the peace of God

3 things you should do to have the peace of God - As humans we seek peace in different places but not all places provide true peace as God himself gives. Here I share with you about 3 things you should do to experience the peace of God in your life.

I remember the time I was in the hospital multiple times because of various miscarriages. The first time was strong, the ones that followed were difficult too, but at that moment I asked God for a lot of peace. As humans we seek peace in different places but not all places provide true peace as God himself gives. Here I share with you about 3 things you should do to experience the peace of God in your life.

Experiencing losses leads us to sadness, anguish and in many cases to depression. That is how I experienced it for a while, but thank God that he held me, I was able to go through the valley of shadow and get up from that place.

How I did it? Delivering my sadness to God (not denying the situation I was experiencing), but rather going through the process trusting in God’s care with me. They were times of intimacy with God, times of weeping before Him. Times of cries and intercessions before His presence. Trusting completely in Him!

As humans we seek peace in different places but not all places provide true peace as God himself gives. Here I share with you about 3 things you should do to experience the peace of God in your life.
The true peace comes from God!

We can seek peace in other people. We can seek peace in our material possessions. But none of that compares to the true peace that God gives us. What you should do to experience the peace of God in your life?

3 things you should do to have the peace of God

If we study the biblical verse of Isaiah 26: 3 more deeply, we find that those who God maintains in perfect peace are those who do these 3 things:

  • Keep your mind committed to the Lord: When you are committed to something, you search diligently, you are persistent and you stand firm.
  • You are focused on one thing only: Being focused on God will help you not to blur or divert your gaze to another place. Become someone that is completely dependent of the Lord.
  • Look for the right place to take refuge: God is your safe place, your strong tower … is your place of refuge. If you take refuge under its cover, under its wings there will be security and peace for you.

You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in you.
Isaiah 26:3

If you find yourself lacking peace in your life today … take a moment to analyze yourself. Do you have Jesus in your life as Lord and Savior? Have you turned your gaze to another place that is not God? Have you focused more on your problems or circumstances? Do you feel that your heart is divided and are you not fully committed to God? If this may be your case, there is an opportunity to return to the right place of complete peace. God!

There is no doubt that all these events cause anxiety and much stress in the world. This is real. And what it says in the bible is real too. 2 of Timothy 3:1 in the AMP Version says the following:

But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear].

Many people are experiencing illness, loss, loneliness, hunger, among many other things. As children of God we are not exempt from this,we never have been. However, we are blessed to have the Word of God as our spiritual food to strengthen us, increase our faith and fully trust God in these difficult times.

5 bible verses for stress relief

  • casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. – 1 Peter 5:7
  • “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. – Matthew 11:28
  • “Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. – John 14:1
  • I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] – John 16:33
  • Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. – Philippians 4:6

Sometimes one of the things we do the least is go to the presence of God to seek the rest that he promises to give us. We pay our full attention in the circumstances and forget that God is powerful to sustain us, strengthen us and guide us in difficulty.

Trust God all your worries and stress and He will give you rest! #stress #God #faith #stressrelief #bibleverses

Here I share 4 books on fiction and faith! It is a great series called “The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle”. Maybe, you have heard about it or maybe not. I’m sharing a little review here. This series is about a seventh grade thirteen-year-old named Wally McDoogle, who loves to write on his computer different stories. Each book includes a super fun and faith focused story.

Bill Myers’s beloved children’s book series is back, and updated for a new generation of young readers. In addition to updated pop culture references and an easy-to-read typesetting, these new editions bring Wally to life with illustrations throughout the text.
The Wally McDoogle series is full of hilarious hijinks and outrageous adventures. In between the laughter, readers will learn essential lessons about friendship, pride, and faith – and the importance of trusting God with it all.

What I like about each book is that it inspires children to trust God, to share about Jesus, among other faith topics that are so important today. To give children these resources in their hands is to provide them with an injection of faith.

You can get each book (each one will bring a new story your kids will love), they are many titles available now! – Check out more information about the books here and get them all here.

How to prevent our prayers from being heard

How to prevent our prayers from being heard - As we were talking in the post about "How to have an effective prayer life" (you must read it), I share in this post, how to prevent our prayers from being heard. In other words, what things do not allow our prayers to be heard by God. Let's see!

As we were talking in the post about “How to have an effective prayer life” (you must read it), I share in this post, how to prevent our prayers from being heard. In other words, what things do not allow our prayers to be heard by God. Let’s see!

One of the things that worries me most about my spiritual life is prayer. Prayer is the connection or communication we have with God. Anything that gets in the way of my dialogue with God deserves my attention and action if necessary.

Now, how we can prevent our prayer from being heard by God? I will call these “Hindrances to prayer” or “Obstacles to prayer”:

  • The first thing we should know is if there is sin in our life. It is a difficult and perhaps an uncomfortable subject, but sin is what can initially hinder and greatly our prayers.
  • Second, we must keep in mind that as Christians and children of God we must be obedient to the commandments and precepts of God. They are all written in the word and being disobedient even in the little things will affect us when it comes to praying. So disobedience can hinder our prayer life.

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Matthew 21:22

  • If we pray it is because we believe that God listens to us and is there with us. We must always have faith! We are exhorted to pray in faith. So if we pray without faith, doubting nothing we will receive. The word of God says that we do not receive because we don’t know how to ask. We must pray according to the Will of God, with faith!
    • Here I want to be more specific. Praying with wrong motives it’s a big obstacle to our prayer life. We must be aware of what we are asking for. Are we praying for those in need? Or am I always praying for myself? Am I praying for the Kingdom of God to expand? Or am I just praying for my personal ministry? There is a BIG difference here, don’t you think?

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:3

  • Injustice can also affect our prayer. I understand that the prayer of an unjust goes nowhere. But the prayer of the RIGHTEOUS can DO MUCH!

We should not allow our prayer life to be affected by these things. Being alert and self-analyzing ourselves will help us make our prayers correct. And above all, heard by GOD.
