At some point in our lives we all go through sadness, loss, pain, illness, among many things. The feelings are affected and it is normal to live it. As parents we often do not know how we can handle and / or provide tools to our children so that they can somehow manage their emotions. What can we do?

  • First of all, pray! – I think praying is the first thing we must do. Ask God for help, wisdom and strength! We trust and rely in God’s care and provision to every need we have. And helping our kids with the emotions is one of them.
  • Second, get yourself some information and knowledge based in the Word of God. If you look closer and deep, the bible tons of help for the parents. Take a look at the book of Proverbs!
  • Third, listen and listen again! – Make yourself available to listen and pay attention to words and body language of your kids. Sometimes, they can express something and demonstrate other thing with their behavior. Pay attention!
  • Fourth, love and love! – Give them gestures of love, even when it’s hard to understand their emotions. Being present, providing a hug, give them security! Give words of affirmation always!
  • If your kids are older (8, 10, 12 or older) talk with them about your own experiences with your emotions and how you deal with your emotions in different settings. Perhaps, they feel identified and this helps them with their own emotions.
  • Don’t let them deny or avoid their emotions. Provide a space for ventilation. May they feel safe talking to you. Give them confidence and do not share what they tell you with other people who are not from the same family nucleus.
  • For toddlers and preschoolers, let them come to you in every need! – Pay all your attention to them. If they come crying to you, expect them with arms wide open. They come to you because they feel safe and secure with mom and dad! – Get yourself some tools like books of different topics (this have help me a lot) to explain to them according to their age.

As parents we must be available to our children and promote emotional health. Guide them using faith and the Word of God as a basis at all times. Have you implemented any of these tips with your children? How did it go?

There is no doubt that all these events cause anxiety and much stress in the world. This is real. And what it says in the bible is real too. 2 of Timothy 3:1 in the AMP Version says the following:

But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear].

Many people are experiencing illness, loss, loneliness, hunger, among many other things. As children of God we are not exempt from this,we never have been. However, we are blessed to have the Word of God as our spiritual food to strengthen us, increase our faith and fully trust God in these difficult times.

5 bible verses for stress relief

  • casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. – 1 Peter 5:7
  • “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. – Matthew 11:28
  • “Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. – John 14:1
  • I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] – John 16:33
  • Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. – Philippians 4:6

Sometimes one of the things we do the least is go to the presence of God to seek the rest that he promises to give us. We pay our full attention in the circumstances and forget that God is powerful to sustain us, strengthen us and guide us in difficulty.

Here I share 4 books on fiction and faith! It is a great series called “The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle”. Maybe, you have heard about it or maybe not. I’m sharing a little review here. This series is about a seventh grade thirteen-year-old named Wally McDoogle, who loves to write on his computer different stories. Each book includes a super fun and faith focused story.

Bill Myers’s beloved children’s book series is back, and updated for a new generation of young readers. In addition to updated pop culture references and an easy-to-read typesetting, these new editions bring Wally to life with illustrations throughout the text.
The Wally McDoogle series is full of hilarious hijinks and outrageous adventures. In between the laughter, readers will learn essential lessons about friendship, pride, and faith – and the importance of trusting God with it all.

What I like about each book is that it inspires children to trust God, to share about Jesus, among other faith topics that are so important today. To give children these resources in their hands is to provide them with an injection of faith.

You can get each book (each one will bring a new story your kids will love), they are many titles available now! – Check out more information about the books here and get them all here.

In times of technology that we are living today, it is a little difficult to keep family members together in the same place. I know that everyone has their cell phone or video games and it is less time spent together as a family. Is a reality!

What can we do today to foster family unity and get to know each member of the family better. I remember as a child that they gave me board games and we spent hours playing together. These games were a great way to share, talk, and have fun as a family.

Now that has been lost a bit. However, there are still alternatives to unite us more as a family. Today I share a small game in size but big on purpose. This game will help us keep the family together and get to know each other more every day.

How to keep the family together and get to know each other more:

This fascinating game is called THE RANK GAME by Storyastic! and its main purpose in addition to bringing fun is to encourage time together as a family. It is a game for member of 14 yeards old or more, however I think that the smallest children inside the house can also join in and contribute. Let’s know a little about this game:

This game will help us keep the family together

  • It’s all about guessing your RANK and prove how well you know each other.

THE RANK GAME is designed by Dana Brown, a former Walt Disney Imagineer, and Chip Brown, a former Disney Studios producer and Christian publisher, to engage the diverse backgrounds, interests, personalities and opinions of every player. By celebrating our individualism, THE RANK GAME actually brings people together, through rich conversation and competition. Created for groups of all sizes, THE RANK GAME leverages our own social behaviors—ranking the things or experiences in our lives.

Resources every man of God should have

Each man and each father must seek the resources to strengthen and increase their faith and relationship with God. It is important that each member of the family can contribute to that development. The fathers and men of our home who love God also need to receive love, prayer, and the right resources in their hands to continue to be hard-working men.

The fathers and men of our home who love God also need to receive love, prayer, and the right resources in their hands to continue to be hard-working men.

As leaders in marriage and family life, men play a fundamental and necessary role for the good of everyone within the home. They are the head and need to be led and guided by Christ.

Here I share several resources that can be obtained to give to those we love, whether they are our parents, spouses, children or our most precious friends. A detail with love that will encourage them to continue in their faith.

The best resources to encourage fathers spiritually:

  • If you ask me, what’s the first gift that can encourage a man in these days? The Bible! I think this is the most important gift, when it comes knowledge of God. Here is an amazing bible, perfect for Man! The Every Man’s Bible!
  • Just like woman, men also like to see movies. Just, maybe a little different of what we like. However, giving them a good movie that inspires them to continue learning and growing as man or father is a must! My recommendation: Courageous “Honor Beings at Home”:
  • The great companion to their bible study time! Having a more structured bible study in their hands and focused on Men or Dad’s, can empower them greatly in different areas of their life. This Father’s Plan, Bible Study for Dads can provide that help during bible study for them.
  • A Good book to read is always a must have in the hands on of man of God. This book is all about devotions and inspired stories about God’s wonders in the life of men. Dugout Devotions for the Men of God!
  • Entertainment can also be linked to learning. This movie is an excellent alternative to give away and enjoy a Sunday with the family. Just Mercy will speak to any man’s heart about mercy, justice and redemption.
  • For those parents and man of the house who love coffee. It never hurts a beautiful mug with an inspiring message for them.
  • Another great option to complement the bible. This beautiful book full of promises for the man of God who wants to grow and mature in every aspect of his life. Especially growing spiritually. Promises from God for Every Man is a must have companion for the bible.
  • Having extra help for parent-child relationships is good. This journal will help you strengthen your relationship with your children in an always good and positive way. Father and Son Journal will help you to get to know your son better every day.
  • Finally, this book that I consider every man of GOD must read. The man of God, a man of the Kingdom. Full of inspiration, encouragement and strength for the man who is determined towards the perfect will of GOD. Kingdom Man by Tony Evans is a must read and must have in your library!

It is not just giving a gift, that is a nice touch, but giving them tools that help them grow and obtain power for the daily life of a man. Recognizing that the main source of power, of faith, of love is God Himself. Jesus the Rock in which they can lean, rest and regain strength and continue to be a man of courage and good leaders in their homes!
