For many, trusting God finds it difficult for others, but it is easier for others. Trust requires faith, requires patience, requires temperance, requires waiting. Trusting (largely) depends on a decision on our part. In times of crisis it is necessary to make a firm decision to fully trust God. But how can we do it?

How to trust God in the crisis:

  • Receiving God’s guidance: God’s guidance is promises to those who genuinely desire it and seek it! The first thing we must do in the crisis is asking and seeking God’s guidance. When we ask for guidance we are been humble, we are saying to God I want to make your will, not mine. We MUST be willing to obey God’s plans and will if you are asking for His guidance in the first place.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

  • Having good and positive attitudes: As humans when we find ourselves in crisis or moments of great pressure we tend to lean towards the negative a little. It is likely that our vision will cloud and we begin to think negatively. We ask ourselves questions, what will happen? Why did this happen to me? This is normal. Scripture identifies a range of positive attitudes towards God, which believers are encouraged to adopt. Having positive attitudes towards God will help us first in times of crisis. Trust, hope, pray, praise, give thanks are some attitudes that we must have.
Having positive attitudes towards God will help us in the crisis.
  • Being dependent on God: Relying on God in our crisis denotes that we know that our help comes from Him. Only God can fill our needs and bring timely relief into our lives. Have you prayed to God for his help in the midst of your crisis? If you have done it, you will surely receive it.
  • Be receptive: Being open to God changes many things. When we are receptive to God’s direction we will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel as they say. This requires more effort on our part. Be open to the Spirit of God so that it can work in us. It requires obedience and action from us. How can we trust God if we are not open to Him?

It is not the same to have a crisis with God than without God on our side. #trustGod #waitonGod #howtotrust #crisis

All this happens when we are waiting for God’s help in times of crisis. So, waiting on God is also an important part of the process of how to trust? – It is not the same to have a crisis with God than without God on our side. No matter what the size of your crisis is, the severity, the magnitude of the crisis – for God, there is no impossible when His sons learns to trust Him fully. How are you trusting God in your crisis today?
